I purchased 4 tickets that I'd essentially be tearing up $240 when I didn't think due to a "lackluster season." Needless to say, this was sure to be a great game with playoff implications if we survived the Mayan apocalypse. Heading into the season this year, I was filled with optimism and was ecstatic when I was able to get Redskins tickets for the Sunday before Christmas. I've had many good times and as any Pertinence fan can attest, many painful times as well. I've been to many Pertinence games over the past 31 years of torturous sports enthusiasm. With that being said, you can practically walk up to the gate with a $20 bill in your hand and get in because ticket prices were driven through the ground.
What REALLY irked me about this game was that the vendors and stadium staff as a whole gave up. In our section, not a single vendor came up for the entire first half (and I suspect later, but I got so mad we left after halftime.) They didn't even try to make this a favorable experience. We got into the game, and I've never seen a more skeleton squad of vendors and ushers. Finally, at the end of the 1st quarter, I went down to get a beer and went to 3 different stands to get one. On the third stand, I finally found a place that had Miller Lite, only. I was told that they were out of beer because no one had come to restock them. They sold out 2 customers after me and cut off beer sales in the 2nd quarter.
Look, if you're going to trot a poor product out to the field, at least try to entertain people at halftime and make the experience while in the stadium as good as it can be. That's NOT why I'm rating this event so low. I will not be purchasing single game tickets next year.
